India Won't Visit Pakistan For The Asia Cup, Playing Games At A Neutral Site: Report

Although Pakistan is most likely to host the Asia Cup in 2023, India will play its games elsewhere. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are attempting to quickly broker a settlement after a brief standoff that could result in both sides playing their tournament matches against one another outside of Pakistan. India will probably play its 2023 Asia Cup games in the United Arab Emirates, England, Oman, or Sri Lanka.

What they said

"The tournament will be allowed to take place in Pakistan after a meeting between the boards a few days ago. The venues where India could play its matches are probably going to be Oman, the UAE, England, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. India will play its matches at a neutral venue and not travel to Pakistan. Even though the choice won't be made right away," A source said to ANI.

The overseas destination is still to be selected, while the UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, and maybe England are realistic options to host India's matches, including at least two matches between India and Pakistan. The neutral destination is not determined although the UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and perhaps England are potential contenders. The summit confrontation will happen at a neutral site if India advances to the Asia Cup final.

India and Pakistan have been placed in the same qualifying group for the six-nation Asia Cup, which will be played in a 50-over format in the first half of September this year. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are included in the other group.

There will be a total of 13 games played over the course of 13 days, including the final. According to the 2022 Asia Cup format, the top two teams from each group advance to the Super 4, where the top two teams face off in the championship.
