1xBat became platinum sponsor of the Tata Open Maharashtra tennis tournament

“We are pleased to support the most prestigious tennis tournament in India. We believe that who you celebrate the new year with is important. Luckily, all true tennis fans will have great company because the tournament qualification starts on December 31st. After that, during the whole first week of the new year, the attention of fans worldwide will be riveted to India.

The Tata Open Maharashtra is the only ATP 250 tournament in the country. Since 1996 this event has thrilled tennis fans. World tennis stars have participated here many times - just look at the esteemed list of winners! Patrick Rafter, Carlos Moya, Marin Cilic and Stanislas Wawrinka have all also won Grand Slam tournaments. And in doubles, past champions include Rafael Nadal and, in another year, the most titled tennis player in India, Leander Paes. It's a fantastic tournament - and we're happy to help make it even better,” said 1xBat representatives.

For the brand, sponsoring the Tata Open Maharashtra is another step in supporting sports in India. For the tournament, 1xBat presents great information potential, and therefore cooperation with it makes it possible to promote the tournament using digital technologies.

"We are delighted to welcome 1xBat to the Tata Open Maharashtra family. While we celebrate the fifth year of this prestigious tournament, we look forward to tapping and engaging with the strong sporting fan base that a global brand like 1xBat promotes through this partnership in sports. We, at the Tata Open Maharashtra, are committed towards contributing to the growth of tennis," said Sanjay Khandare, Treasurer, Tata Open Maharashtra, who is also an IAS officer.

This year, the seeding will be headed by 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic from Croatia, who has already won the tournament twice - in 2009 and 2010, when it was held in Chennai. Since 2018, the Tata Open Maharashtra has been held in Pune - and now Cilic has a great opportunity to triumph in a new venue.

In addition to the Croatian, many other top 50 players will be participating. This will include stars such as Botic van de Zandschulp, Emil Ruusuvuori, Sebastian Baez, Jenson Brooksby and Alex Molcan. In total, 16 of the world’s top 100 ATP-ranked players will be among the tournament participants. This is a very strong line-up, which means that the fans will be intrigued - and are sure to follow the events of the tournament with the help of 1xBat.

It's worth noting that recently the news platform became the official partner of the Women’s Cricket Superstar talent show and the Patna Pirates kabaddi team. The brand's ambassadors include famous cricketers Kieron Pollard and Sanath Jayasuriya.
